Parque Garcia Sanabria

Parque García Sanabria is a park inside one of the two capitals of the Canary Islands, Santa Cruz de Tenerife, in of course, Tenerife. This park is probably the most creative and delightful in the islands; every inch of it was designed to captivateits visitors.

The Parque Garcia Sanabria is the largest public urban park of this surprising Capital and the fourteen Canary islands. It inaugurated in 1926, and acquired the name of the mayor that approved its construction, Mayor Garcia Sanabria. Its creation was prompted by the need of a wide landscape zone in the capital, and was decorated with fountains and architectonic groups in an area of 67,230 square meters.

In 1973,“The First International Exhibition of Sculpture in the Street,” took place here; from that moment on, thirteen pieces of all the sculptures displayed on this occasion, remained adorning the unconscious corners and paths inside the park.

The Municipal Park Garcia Sanabria of Santa Cruz de Tenerife is located in the heart of the city, between the streets Numancia, Méndez Núñez, Dr. Jose Naveiras and Ramblade Santa Cruz.

From October 2004 to June 2006, the most important park of the city, along Parque de La Granja, closed for renovation.F rom then on Parque Garcia Sanabria has boasted more exuberant paths and fountains.
